EVENT DETAILS

Artist Registration Deadline: February 17, 2012

Event Dates: Saturday - Sunday, June 2 & 3 and 9 & 10, 11:00AM - 6:00PM

Preview Exhibition at Pro Arts // May 1 - June 11

ELIGIBILITY
Artists must have a studio, home or exhibition space in Alameda or Contra Costa Counties. Artists seeking studio space for the event are encouraged to attend Workshop: Sharing Space, Saturday, January 28, 2pm.

ENTRY
STANDARD Entry for Individual Artist Includes:

  • Listing in the Directory of East Bay Arts. Choose open studios dates, “Open by Appointment Only"; or "Listing Only/Private Studio.” -- Distributed to Curators, Gallerists and Arts Professionals across the Bay Area

  • NEW in 2012! LARGER Artwork Images- Now 2 x 2"! Images must be formatted 2” x 2”, rgb, 300 dpi, .jpg files only. For information about resizing images, visit photo.net/learn/resize/.

  • Admission to all workshops.

  • One 16” x 16“ x 4” exhibition space in the Preview Exhibition at Pro Arts; promotion and artwork by and for registered artist only. (Assigned spaces are final; size requirements are enforced)

  • Two back-to-back 8.5” x 11” pages in the Artists Book reference guide for gallery visitors. Content may include your artist statement, resume, and images of your work (no originals please).

  • Posters for event distribution in your neighborhood.

  • Opportunity to pre-order event postcards (4 x 6") with blank space for artist info.

  • Opportunity to order reusable outdoor event signs to grab attention and direct studio visitors.

  • Artist webpage for one year displaying artist listing, including full color image, studio information, and contact details.

  • Image gallery of up to 8 images included on your artist webpage.

  • Distribution copies of the Directory of East Bay Arts.


BOLD Entry for Individual Artist Includes:

  • Benefits of Standard Entry plus Bold Artist Listing in the Directory. Draw more attention to your listing with bold Text and Formatting

  • Personalized web address for your artist webpage (one year). Example db.proartsgallery.org/artists/janesmith

EXPANDED Entry for Individual Artist Includes:

  • Benefits of Bold Entry plus Expanded Artist Listing in the Directory with 3 lines of descriptive text (200 characters maximum).

LIMITED EVENT Entry for Individual Artist Includes: (Late Registrations received after February 18):

  • Benefits of Standard Entry excluding listing in the Directory of East Bay Arts; other exclusions may apply, contact Pro Arts for complete description. Late entries are included in the online gallery and other event listings.

EBOS in the Schools
Open to all students (valid ID required) from a visual arts class or department in an East Bay college or university participating as a class; each artist must identify the same school address as their studio location. All other eligibility requirements apply.

  • Includes all benefits of Standard Entry.

ENTRY FEES
Standard Entry: $140 + applicable membership fee. All participants must be current members of Pro Arts. Membership must be current through last day of event. No refunds. Discounted fees are available for Early Registration (See Entry Fee table). Fee waivers extended to current members for volunteer service in the gallery- fee waiver deadline is January 31, 2012, contact Pro Arts for details.

ONLINE GALLERY and ARTIST WEBPAGE
Registered artists receive a webpage, hosted at db.proartsgallery.org, as part of the East Bay OPEN STUDIOS Online Gallery. The web page includes an artist listing, artist statement, resume and up to 8 images. The Online gallery includes a dynamic Map and search functions to locate artists by name, media, and city. Personalize your URL by upgrading your entry to Bold or Expanded. See “ENTRY”.

ARTIST AGREEMENT AND WAIVER

Terms of Agreement: I hereby agree to the terms and conditions of Pro Arts, the Directory of East Bay Arts, and Eat Bay Open Studios as outlined in the program description. I understand that if I host other artists, or if I am hosted by another artist, each must be a registered participant. I understand that there are no refunds on registration and membership fees. I understand that participation is contingent on upholding and abiding by all terms and conditions. I agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless Easy Bay Open Studios and Pro Arts, its officers, agents and employees for any and all liabilities, claims, errors, omissions, losses, accidents and expenses caused by, arising out of, or in connection with, either directly or indirectly, East Bay Open Studios, Directory of East Bay Arts. Terms subject to change.

Networked Artists & FREE Ads

Incentives for the Networked Artist:
Increase your art audience by expanding the audience for your neighborhood or artist network. East Bay Open Studios is the main vehicle for connecting artists directly to public audiences. By organizing artists in your neighborhood or artist network everyone benefits- larger audiences, more support, more sales potential, and more resources for successful open studios events.

To encourage artist networking and community building in artists' neighborhoods Pro Arts offers FREE Ads in the Directory of East Bay Arts. All participating artists are eligible. Include your network under promotions at the time of registration (one network per registered artist for promotion purposes); a minimum of 5 registrations qualify for a FREE 1/16 AD. 'Groups' may be based on location, neighborhood, geographic area, media, affiliation, shared interests-- it's up to you!

* Please note that artists must identify their network at time of registration. Upgrades are available based on commercial rates. For more info about network groups, attend Workshop: Sharing Space and Artist Networks, January 28, 2012, 2pm


All discounted and promotional ads including the Networked Artist program are 1) Available to registered artists only 2) Subject to ad placement terms, and 3) Must reasonably identify each participating artist in the group.

A workshop that provides a structured forum for artists to connect to other artists. Topics include: Building and connecting artist networks, and matching artists looking for studio space with artists that have space to share for this year's East Bay Open Studios.

An introduction for first-time East Bay Oakland Studios participants and those wanting a refresher course. Topics include Preview Exhibition, Directory of East Bay Arts, online gallery, prepping your studio & more.

Artist Deinstallation: East Bay Open Studios Preview Exhibition

Artists must present photo ID to retrieve the work. Your work will not be released to anyone other then yourself unless prior arrangements are made. Artworks not picked up by the last day of de-installation accrue a $10 penalty per day for a maximum of 5 business days. After 5 business days all unclaimed artworks are considered abandoned and may be sold to recoup penalties or donated to community partners.
