An introduction for first-time EBOS participants and those wanting a refresher course. Topics include Preview Exhibition, Directory of East Bay Arts, online gallery, prepping your studio & more.

Saturday, February 20, 2 - 3p.m.

Pro Arts and Pacific Institute Present: Water Impacts of Climate Change in the Bay Area.

An informative presentation by Pacific Institute research analyst Lucy Allen. Topics include flooding, drought, and the links between water use, energy use and greenhouse gas emissions.

This event is in support of 2 x 2 Solos: Nadim Sabella, curated by Lucy Kalyani Lin. The exhibition runs until February 26, 2010.

About 2 x 2 Solos
2 x 2 Solos showcases the best new work made in the region and provides the support necessary for emerging artists to establish themselves in a critical contemporary art context. Drawn from nominations by artist groups, institutions, and organizations in the Oakland/Bay Area, four artists are selected to work closely with an independent curator and receive a cash honorarium and a commissioned essay about their work. An introduction to installation, hanging artwork, and security for public exhibition.

Exclusive VIP reception for the East Bay Open Studios Exhibition. A formal and festive evening with live music and champagne followed by a free reception for friends and family.

First Fridays Oakland Art Nights

Gallery open til 9 pm

The First Friday of every month Pro Arts extends its gallery hours in conjunction with Oakland’s Art Night. 

Gallery closed on First Friday night of September.

Second Fridays, Youth Speaks, 7 pm

Pro Arts and Youth Speaks present a fun open-mic with poetry and dj music for youth under 21. The event is free to the public.

Last Fridays BACH Concert Series, 7:30 pm

Series Runs January through October. Tickets| $18 General | $15 Seniors | $12 Students & Pro Arts Members. Tickets for the event are available at the door and through BayAreaBACH.org.
