Oakland, CA:  Pro Arts is pleased to invite you to The Art of Living Black: Selected Works, a satellite exhibition of The Art of Living Black 2005, sponsored by the Richmond Art Center.  The Art of Living Black is an annual exhibition presented by the Richmond Art Center which features artists of African descent from the San Francisco Bay Area.

The Art of Living Black: Selected Works features the works of Lorraine Bonner, Bill Dallas, Keina Davis-Elswick, Paula de Joie, Anna Edwards, Rae Louise Hayward, Gene Howell, Amana Johnson, Michael Johnson, Will Johnson, Jeanette Madden, Ajuan Maria Mance, Githinji Mbire, eesuu odundide, Hilda C. Robinson, Ron Moultrie Saunders, Atiba Sylvia Thomas, Bryan Keith Thomas, Darryl Thompson, Orlonda Uffre, Roosevelt Washington, and TheArthur Wright.

A curatorial discussion with Rae Louise Hayward and Hershell West will take place on Saturday, March 19 at 1pm.  Rae Louise Hayward is an original co-founder of this annual exhibition and a featured artist.  Hershell West is an artist, arts activist and President of the Board of Directors at Pro Arts--and was also one of the original advocates for staging The Art of Living Black at the Richmond Art Center.  A conversation with some of the featured artists will immediately follow the curatorial discussion.   Free and open to the public.
