Pro Arts announces Juried Annual 2011, Selections by Paola Santoscoy. The exhibition is on view November 23, 2010 – January 14, 2011. An Artists’ Reception is scheduled on Friday, December 3, 6 – 8 pm and an Artist Talk is scheduled Tuesday, January 11, 6 pm. Exhibition events are free and open to the public.
The critically cclaimed Juried Annual presents a survey of the best new work in the Bay Area selected by a Juror from the international arts community. The exhibition features works in a variety of media, including painting, sculpture, printmaking, installation, social practice, installation, and photography. All works were selected through a blind jurying process by Mexico City based curator Paola Santoscoy.

About the Juror: Paola Santoscoy is an independent curator and writer based in Mexico City. She recently served as Lead Curator for the Biennial of the Americas Denver, CO. She has worked with Mexico City’s cutting edge institutions, including Museo de Arte Carrillo Gil and Museo Tamayo Arte Contemporáneo. As an independent curator, she has developed exhibition projects and curatorial essays for international institutions such as Künstlerhaus Bethanien, Berlin; Fundación Proa, Buenos Aires; GAMeC, Bergamo and Piano Nobile, Geneva.
