Featuring the work of Lenore McDonald
1611 Telegraph Avenue, Oakland
March 18, 2006 - July 31, 2007
Heavily influenced by the abstract expressionists and the color-field
painters of the ‘50s and ‘60s, Lenore McDonald creates paintings that
consist of gestural brushstrokes of brightly colored pigment that she
often layers in translucent washes of color. These large works on canvas
emphasize the artist’s interest in nature often found in the urban environment,
such as the grass, trees, sky, and water, in addition to the nature viewed
directly from the window of the artist’s home. The exhibition is on view
weekdays from 9 am-5 pm in the Latham Square lobby located at 1611 Telegraph
Ave., Oakland. Admission is free.
