About Pro Arts


Overview

Pro Arts provides critical access to contemporary art in Oakland and the Bay Area through its independent curated exhibitions, capacity-building artist services, open studios and juried programs, and diverse collaborative programs. In addition to serving as an advocate for regional artists, Pro Arts offers youth and community programs to further engage art audiences that reflect innovative artistic expression, and the rich cross-section of cultures, ethnicity, age, and race in the Oakland/Bay Area. Last year Pro Arts exhibited 690 artists and produced 62 events drawing an annual audience of 65,000. Additionally, Pro Arts provides professional art services to partnering institutions, and fiscal sponsorship to artists.

Pro Arts supports the arts within communities by serving the ongoing needs of artists.

Support for Pro Arts programs is provided, in part, by the National Endowment for the Arts, California Arts Council, The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, The San Francisco Foundation, Zellerbach Family Foundation, The Thomas J Long Foundation, and Clorox Foundation.

Gallery Rental

Pro Arts provides a creative backdrop to your special event. Whether it's a wedding reception, holiday gathering, business meeting, fundraiser or workshop, the 2,200 square-foot venue is versatile enough to house banquet tables or standing-room only private soirees. Pro Arts' facility capacity is 150 persons maximum.
